It has been quite some time since I've given an update on what's happening over here at evoke! 2014 proved to be a pretty challenging year for me as i struggled with some personal issues, but the business has remained strong! I managed to get plenty of experience second shooting for my friend and colleague, Sarah D'Alberto and finished the year with a really strong holiday season! Before the holidays, I relocated and was able to create a home studio, which helped immensely!
Over the frigid winter months I was able to do a bit of artistic work, which I love! I documented the massive fire that destroyed a couple of historic buildings on Jay Street in downtown Schenectady. There was definitely a strange attraction to this for me. I was able to capture the days following the fire, where the burned buildings were covered in inches of ice to the ATF investigation and ultimately, the demolition. About a month after the buildings had been leveled and word got around that I had been capturing this intriguing event, I was contacted by the Schenectady Historical Society regarding the images. I'm super excited to announce that I will be showing a personal exhibit for the them at Mabee Farm Historic Site to commemorate the year anniversary of the blaze! Press releases will be issued and the opening reception will be held on March 18, 2016. Details to follow!
Wedding season has started to pick up again and I've got my first three of 2015 under my belt! I'll be sure to blog about them as time permits. They were all unique and beautiful and I can't wait to share some samples and stories!
I have also decided to make the leap and add a photo booth to my business! I've been spending plenty of time on research and conference calls to determine the perfect fit and hope to be offering those services by the end of summer!! I am really looking forward to adding this feature to evoke's services. Please feel free to email me for more details.
In addition to all of those exciting announcements, I have been notified that I have been made the official photographer for the Saratoga Sevens Rugby Invitational again this year! This is a huge, annual, international event held at Skidmore College and it's a true honor to have this opportunity for the second year in a row! I will be working with the Rugby league on a Track shoot for their calendar as well. That will take place on the Saratoga Race track in just a couple of weeks! I couldn't be happier or more honored to shoot for this group again. Last year was a blast and I'm ecstatic to shoot this event again! Thanks, Sevens!!
So, as you can see, things are going well here! I'm anticipating that 2015 will continue to be an outstanding year. My repeat clientele and loyal supporters have been wonderful and I can't thank all of you enough for putting your faith in me for all of your photography needs! I'll keep everyone updated as the summer goes on!
Peace and love-
